Performed by the Yale Philharmonia, Shinik Hahm

Clearing out the orchestra to reveal hidden corners of light and color was the initial inspiration for Liquid Song. Within this sparse yet bright orchestrational space, melodic cadences are created through resonant and raw sounds, gradually unfurling and articulating the cumulative effects of the passage of time. The piece seeks to invoke the power of sound, nature, and light, moving and mingling together in the imagination.

Subsequent performances by the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra.
